The years fly by and the commitments at home pile up. We spend more time shuffling kids from one activity to another than we do really connecting. When we step away from home and all the tasks that pull our attention, we are able to be together and truly connect before it’s too late.

This has been our experience as we have taken on the goal of visiting #everystatebeforetheygraduate. Not only have we been able to deepen relationships, but we have also reaped so many more benefits along the way. It has been amazing to see the character development that has happened ….patience, perseverance, resilience, sturdiness, courage, grace, flexibility, perspective shifts, and appreciation of God’s creation, to name a few.

The window is shorter than we think. These years are our opportunity to be intentional—to step away, to connect, and to shape who our kids are becoming. If this is something you want for your family but don’t know how to make it happen, I’d be honored to come along beside you as you take those first steps to plan, prioritize, and follow through.
